DEAN H. AZZAM, PE, LEED AP

Dean Azzam has over twenty-five years experience in facility design, analysis & construction and has been a licensed engineer in the state of Connecticut for over twenty years. He is also a licensed engineer in the states of New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and California as well as being certified by the National Council of Engineering Examiners and a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional. He earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. His career began as a mechanical design engineer for a large engineering firm in Connecticut.

Mr. Azzam then went to work for an electric utility company in Connecticut developing energy conservation and demand management programs. There he used his knowledge of building systems to advise customers on energy conservation issues and to review conservation projects through the design and construction phases.

Dean returned to consulting as the mechanical department head of a midsize engineering firm in Connecticut. There he managed all aspects of the firm's operations. He became proficient in various other building systems such as electrical, fire alarm and fire protection. He was responsible for management issues such as weekly scheduling, budgeting, marketing, personnel and financial management.

Mr. Azzam has served as President of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers and on the Board of Governors of the American Institute of Facility Engineers.

He is President and Principal-in-Charge at Aztech Engineers, Inc. since founding the firm in 1995 and as such bears the final responsibility for the quality of work produced by the firm.

PATRICK CALLAHAN

Patrick is an accomplished well rounded Mechanical engineer. He brings to Aztech Engineers, Inc. over 20 years of experience in the HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection engineering design fields. He has spent his career honing his expertise as a building services design engineer.

His background includes knowledge and skill with design drawing and specifications for HVAC systems in industrial, commercial and residential environments. His experience includes design of plumbing and sprinkler systems for commercial and institutional applications, including energy analysis, utility service coordination and construction administration. He has demonstrated expertise in cost estimating, design development and load calculations in relation to large scale renovations and redesign projects.
